Pokémon Pokopia DLC Guide: Expansion Pass & Bubbly Basin
Pokémon Pokopia's first DLC: the US$34.99 Expansion Pass, the free Version 2.0 Dive update, Bubbly Basin's August 2026 release, plus bonuses and unlock steps.

Will Pokémon Pokopia get DLC?
Yes. Announced on June 10, 2026, the DLC arrives on two tracks that launch together. The paid Expansion Pass — US$34.99, released in three parts — adds new towns and features over time. The free Version 2.0 update gives every player the new Dive move and opens up the underwater world. The catch: that free update is what unlocks the paid content, so even Part 1 needs Version 2.0 installed first. Everything kicks off in August 2026.
Release schedule
| Stage | When | What's new | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free Version 2.0 update | August 2026 | Ditto learns Dive · the underwater world opens to every player | Free |
| Part 1 — Bubbly Basin | August 2026 | A brand-new underwater town: new Pokémon, furniture and a Ditto costume | Paid |
| Part 2 | Late 2026 | New features — no new town | Paid |
| Part 3 | 2027 | A new town to explore and rebuild | Paid |
The Expansion Pass itself went on sale 2026/6/10; the content above unlocks from August 2026 onward.
The free Version 2.0 update
The centerpiece is Ditto's new move, Dive. Until now Ditto couldn't stay submerged for long; with Dive it moves freely underwater, and the newly opened underwater world lets you build your town deeper and wider than before. Because Dive is the only way to reach the new underwater town, this free update is a prerequisite for paid Part 1 — the two are designed to ship together.

Bubbly Basin — Part 1 of the Expansion Pass
Bubbly Basin is the first paid part: a brand-new underwater town that adds new Pokémon, new furniture and a new Ditto costume. Buying the pass alone isn't enough, though — you have to clear three things in the main game before you can enter:
- Complete the Raise the environment level! request in Bleak Beach.
- Learn the Surf move and the Bounce jump.
- Install the August Version 2.0 update and learn Dive.
With all three done, you can step into Bubbly Basin and start building.
