Raising humidity on Cloud Island is key to attracting Water-type Pokémon and unlocking certain quests, including the Onix rescue mission.

Why Humidity Matters

  • Water-type spawns increase in humid areas
  • Plant growth speeds up with higher humidity
  • Onix quest requires reaching humidity level 3
  • Cooking — some recipes require high-humidity ingredients

How to Raise Humidity

Method 1: Water Plants

  • Use a Pokémon with the Water specialty on planted crops
  • Each watering session raises local humidity by 1 point
  • Water Pokémon: Squirtle, Psyduck, Poliwag

Method 2: Open Blocked Streams

  • Find dried-up or blocked stream channels
  • Clear obstacles using Dig or Smash Pokémon
  • Opening a stream permanently raises area humidity by 3 points

Method 3: Horsea Fountain

  • Craft: Stone × 4, Iron Bar × 1
  • Place near your habitat area
  • Raises humidity by 2 points per placement

Method 4: Yawn Up A Storm Quest

  • Complete the main story quest "Yawn Up A Storm"
  • Unlocks a permanent weather charm that keeps humidity at level 5
  • Required to rescue Onix

Humidity stuck at 71? Check this before adding more items

If your HUD stays at 71, treat it as a progress check rather than proof that one more fountain is required. Work through this list in order:

  1. Confirm you are reading the meter for the same area where you placed the humidity tools.
  2. Recheck the active objective log and complete any humidity- or weather-related request before changing your layout again.
  3. Verify that the stream you opened remains clear and that the placed fountain is in the active habitat area.
  4. Leave and re-enter the area, then recheck the meter before spending more crafting materials.

If the value still does not change after an objective completes, keep the objective name and a screenshot of the meter. That distinguishes a progression gate from a placement or display issue.
