How To Start
To start the April Fools event, interact with any Pokemon Center PC on April 1. A notification should appear that says the Pokemon want to do something different for the day.
If you check the Challenges menu, you should see a Special Challenge that requires you to correctly answer today's special quizzes.
You can answer quizzes by talking to Pokemon that have a speech bubble containing an ellipsis on top of their heads.
Upon interacting with them, they will talk like a different Pokemon for their first few sentences, then drop the act before asking you who they were impersonating.
Mechanics
During this Sudowoodo event, Pokemon with a speech bubble will copy the dialogue of another Pokemon if you talk to them. They will then ask you who you think they were trying to copy and give you two Pokemon to choose from.
The Pokemon they impersonate appear to be locked to Pokemon living in the same area you are currently in. If there's a specific biome that has Pokemon you're most familiar with, it's recommended to answer the quizzes there for better chances of getting correct answers.
In order to complete the April Fools event, you must answer 3 Pokemon impersonation quizzes correctly. Don't worry about giving a wrong answer, since there are no penalties for making mistakes.
Multiple Pokemon will be quizzing you all day, so you have a lot of chances to get correct answers.

The Copycat Challenge runs every April 1 — a single 24-hour window from 5 AM to the next day's 4:59 AM local time. The Special Challenge and impersonation quizzes disappear once the day ends.
Interact with any Pokemon Center PC on April 1. A notification points you to the Challenges menu, where a Special Challenge unlocks. Then look for Pokemon with an ellipsis '...' speech bubble in your current area and talk to them.
Talk to Pokemon with the '...' speech bubble; they impersonate another Pokemon, then ask you to pick the correct answer from two choices. Answering three impersonation quizzes correctly clears the Special Challenge and awards the Inflatable Sudowoodo outdoor decoration.
Yes. Time travel back to April 1 on the Switch 2 system clock to retrigger the event — there are no penalties for adjusting the date. If travelling backwards from a later date, first step to an earlier date, then jump forward to April 1.
